MISSION STATEMENT

 

The mission of Liberty ISD, as a community-wide partnership with a shared sense of pride, is to ensure that each student reaches his or her fullest potential and becomes a contributing citizen in an ever-changing, competitive world; this will be accomplished by a highly-skilled and caring faculty, active student and parent participation, diverse community resources, advanced technology, and facilities that provide a positive learning environment.

Liberty ISD District Goals

Goal 1: Student Performance, Curriculum, and Communication

To provide a well-balanced and appropriate curriculum offered through traditional and innovative instructional methods and to communicate with all parties to ensure exemplary education.

 

Goal 2: Personnel and Staff Development

To attract and retain qualified and effective personnel who are positive role models for all students and to equip them with the training they need to be successful.

 

Goal 3: School Safety

To provide a positive, safe learning environment which promotes student achievement and fosters teamwork.

Liberty ISD District Objectives


Objective 1.1 Maintain or exceed state standards of student performance in all subject areas and among all student populations tested by the TAKS test.

 

Objective 1.2 Align curriculum expectations, first horizontally, then vertically in all areas of instruction, beginning with core subjects.

 

Objective 1.3 Provide access to computer technology, as well as other modes of technology for all students at all levels.

 

Objective 1.4 Maintain the dropout percentage for all student groups to below the state averages, maintain, and improve the discipline campus, the dropout recovery campus and other innovative programs.

 

Objective 1.5 Maintain attendance rate at or above the state minimum.

 

Objective 1.6 Explore School to Work programs and course offerings to meet community needs.

 

Objective 1.7 Communicate national, state, and local policies and performance to school staff, students, parents, and the general public in appropriate and meaningful ways by expanding and improving the methods for reporting same to the public.

 

Objective 1.8 Develop methods to gain more parental involvement in the education of ALL students in LISD at ALL levels (PK-12)

 

Objective 2.1 Attract and maintain highly qualified personnel.

 

Objective 2.2 Provide meaningful training to develop and enhance skills needed to successfully implement all district and campus programs and initiatives.

 

Objective 3.1 Increase security of all district facilities for a safe school environment

 

Objective 3.2 Develop a district crisis/emergency management plan.

 

Objective 3.3 Improve our ability to eliminate hidden weapons and other illicit items on all district property.

 

Objective 3.4 Increase student involvement in providing a safe school environment

 

Objective 3.5 Increase community involvement to assist with creating safer school environments for all students.

 

Objective 3.6 Develop method to deal with serious problems on district property in a quick, efficient manner.

 

Objective 3.7 Reduce serious student discipline infractions by at least 10%
